Q. What time is check in?
A. Check in is at 4pm.
Q. What time is check out?
A. Check out is at noon.
Q. What if I need to stay past the check out time?
A. Requests for Late checkouts are assessed on a case-by-case basis. For departures after 2pm there may be an additional charge. Please contact the Front Office by email or 800-267-6644 / 613-238-8858 should you require an extended checkout.
Q. What if I have to cancel?
A. Individual reservations may be cancelled up to 24 hours prior to arrival without penalty. Cancellations received after this time may result in billing of one night room and tax.
Q. How can I pay for my room?
A. We accept Cash, Travellers Cheques, Debit Cards, and American Express, Master Cards, Visa, Diners/Carte Blanche, Discover/Novus and JCB Credit Cards. If you would like to arrange for billing to your company please contact our accounting department at

Q. I am traveling with an infant or toddler. Do you offer cribs?
A. We offer real baby cribs and cots at no additional cost. We also have highchairs at no extra charge.
Q. Is there a charge for extra persons in my room?
A. Rates are based on double occupancy. For additional adults an additional cost of $10 per person + tax & fees applies.
Q. Do you offer senior discounts?
A. There is a special seniors rate for people over 55 years young. Inquire at time of reservation. ID is required on check in.
Q. I’d like to purchase a certificate as a gift. Do you offer gift certificates?
A. Gift certificates may be purchased online. You may also contact our Reservations department by phone 800-267-6644 or 613-238-8858.
Q. What does your privacy policy mean?
A. Our privacy policy is that we do not give out or sell guest information to any third parties without your consent. We are following the guidelines established by the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Q. Tell me about your parking.
A. Underground parking is available for guests of the hotel. The parking
is $15.95 / evening + tax with full in and out privileges. Maximum vehicle
height is 6 ft 2 inches.
Q. Are taxes and fees included in price?
A. Taxes and fees are generally not included on prices for goods or
services. Rates are subject to the 5% Provincial Hotel Room Tax and
the 5% Goods and Services Tax and the Destination Market Fee of 3%.
Q. What is the Destination Marketing Fee?
A. In order to better promote Ottawa, the Ottawa Gatineau Hotel Association
(OGHA) has implemented a Destination Marketing Fee of 3% effective May
30, 2004 to guest rooms used less than 30 days. This fee is only applied
to the room portion of a guest’s bill and is inclusive of any
taxes, so that the net taxes and fees on guestroom accommodation will
now be 14% - the amount charged on most purchases in Canada. All money
generated will be used to support Ottawa’s tourism promotion efforts.
This is a fee of 2.8% charged against the guest room rate, which is also subject to Goods and Services Tax. It is a total of 3%. Non-Residents can apply for a rebate on the GST from the Government of Canada.

The Bay Street Bistro, located off the lobby, is open daily for breakfast (seasonally), lunch & dinner year-round. Enjoy Italian fare, a great lunch buffet and Sunday Brunch. The Black Bear Pub offers 17 taps and 45 plus Single Malt scotches and a late night kitchen. Room Service is available.
Q. How far is the Byward Market?
A. The Byward market is about 5 minutes by car or a 20-minute walk from the hotel.
Q. Do you allow pets?
A. We do not allow animals except for seeing-eye dogs.
Q. How old must I be to check into
a room?
A. The minimum age to check into the Albert at Bay Suite Hotel is 21
years or older.
