In 1945, Princess Juliana of the Netherlands presented Ottawa with 100,000 tulip bulbs. What began as a symbol of international friendship quickly blossomed into one of the most celebrated festivals in Canada. Over the years, the Canadian Tulip Festival has grown into the largest of its kind in the world, attracting more than 250,000 people each year. Take a journey through various sites in Ottawa and Gatineau and walk through the kaleidoscope of colours from more than 3,000,000 tulips.
