The first Ottawa Bluesfest featured three days of entertainment at Major’s Hill Park with only one stage. Today, the world-class event has grown to an 11-day mainstream multi-stage celebration of regional, national, and international musicians. Twenty years strong, Bluesfest continues to bring an explosion of Blues, World Music, Alternative, Rock, Jazz, Funk, Soul, and so much more to the stage.
Thousands of national and international performers gather at the festival site at LeBreton Flats Park, adjacent to the Canadian War Museum.
Year after year, Bluesfest continues to present one of the most diverse line-ups of any outdoor music festival in Canada.
BLUES IN THE SCHOOLS
In this educational outreach program, blues artists visit Ottawa schools for two weeks and work with selected groups of students.
One of the top music festivals in the world, Bluesfest has seen the likes of The Tragically Hip, Van Morrison and Bob Dylan take the stage.
